Wallace Miller is investigating and pursuing allegations that Roblox is responsible for the sexual abuse of minors on its online gaming platform. In a new lawsuit filed by our team and co-counsel, we allege that Roblox is a hunting ground for sexual predators, permits sexually explicit images and abusive content, and is responsible for the sexual exploitation of an unknown number of vulnerable children.

What is Roblox?
As a popular online gaming platform, Roblox allows users to create and play their own games, called “experiences.” These experiences allow users to showcase their creativity, play easily with their friends, and dive into near-unlimited virtual worlds. In 2023, it had about 380 million users, 58% of which were children and almost 40% of which were 13 years old or younger. About 20 million people log onto the platform every day in the U.S. and Canada.
The platform is free and easy to download on consoles, computers, tablets, and phones. It allows users to interact in “experiences” and directly communicate with each other. Roblox has repeatedly promised parents that it is a safe place for kids to learn, play, and connect.

Child sexual abuse on Roblox
Despite Roblox’s claims that it prioritizes child safety, the platform allows child sexual abuse material to flourish and enables pedophiles to groom and sexually abuse children through its services.
According to the complaint, sexual and abusive content is pervasive on the platform. This includes simulated sexual experiences and experiences that gamify real-life abuse from sex offenders like Sean “Diddy” Combs and Jeffrey Epstein.
Roblox has also allowed for and facilitated the sexual exploitation of children and teenagers. In multiple cases over the past several years, predators have used the direct message feature in Roblox to groom children, gain their trust, and send sexually explicit messages. Some of these abusers sent sexual content, coerced children to send explicit photos, and met with and abused children in person.
The lawsuit against Roblox
Roblox promises parents that its platform is a safe place for children to learn and play. However, the Roblox lawsuit filed by Wallace Miller joins other legal action alleging that the platform has inadequate safety features, does not invest in basic measures to protect children despite being aware of the risks, and prioritizes user growth over kids’ wellbeing.
The complaint alleges that Roblox does not screen its users, does not verify age or identity, and does not have effective parental controls. As a result, predators are able to freely target vulnerable users to groom and exploit. In the lawsuit filed by Wallace Miller in St. Louis Circuit Court with Dolman Law Group and Cooper Masterman PLLC, the plaintiff is the mother of a child who has used Roblox since she was seven years old. Posing as another child, the abuser gained her trust and moved their conversation to private text messages, where he convinced her to send explicit images of herself.
Now, parents and families are demanding that Roblox take responsibility for the abuse perpetrated via its platform. “It takes incredible courage to speak up,” says Wallace Miller partner Edward A. Wallace. “These kids are so afraid to speak up, so can you imagine […] how many victims are out there that haven’t spoke up?”
